A quick fan-art sketch of Miyabi Otsuki from the webcomic, “The Way to Your Heart” which can be found here! I really want to get better at making portraits, may they be realistic or semi-realistic. Also playing with lights and darks… I realize that I’m afraid to go darker on my shadows. Really need to get out of that comfort zone!

A couple of people at work and I decided to hone our digital painting skills by taking movie stills and painting them. This one is from the bizarre french movie, “Holy Motors.” I still have no idea what the movie was about, but there was something about it that just kept me watching. o_o
Anyway, I can honestly say that I’m not very good at digital painting, so I was really surprised with how this one came out.. I LIKE IT! :)
It didn’t start out as a serious sketch, but I liked where it was going so I re-sketched it a bunch of times. :3
